Sprotbrough Scout Groups Combine to Win Tractor Pull.

A team of Scouts from the 28th Doncaster (St. Edmunds) Scout Group joined forces with a team from the 67th Doncaster (Sprotbrough) Scout Group, to pull an oversized Tractor over a set distance in the quickest time. The winning time was 15 seconds. The event was held over the Weekend of 4th - 6th July at Squirrel Wood, the District Scout Camp Site in Burghwallis. Known as Bungalee, this Camping / Activity Experience is held every 2 years This years camp was held to celebrate 100 years of Scouting in Doncaster, and was attended by over 800 members of the Scout Association camping for the whole weekend with a further 200 members attending the site for the Saturday's entertainment. The Tractor Pull event was held on the Sunday, and had teams from all over the area taking part. The team from Sprotbrough was made up from a Beaver Scout from 28th, Cub Scouts from Both Groups, followed by Scouts from the 28th and Explorer Scouts from the Sir Edmund 'X' Unit based at 28th Group HQ, along with Adult Leaders from Both Groups. The weekends activities included Crate Stacking, A Rotating Climbing Wall supplied & manned by the Army, Face Painting, Backwards Cooking, Bouncy Castles, Slides & a Bucking Bronco, Making & Firing Rockets, Music Workshops plus many others, followed by a disco on Saturday Night. Sunday was Competition day and consisted of a 5 a side Football Competition, A Penalty Shoot Out, A Tent Pitching Competition and the Tractor Pull.
